Plumbing

The Plumbing/Gas Inspector's primary responsibility is ensuring compliance with the Massachusetts Fuel Gas & Plumbing Code 248 CMR and MGL.C.142 as adopted and amended by the Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters. The Plumbing/Gas Inspector inspects and witnesses testing of plumbing systems in the process of installation or alteration for compliance with legal requirements with regard to tightness of joints, piping material and sizing, safety devices, trapping and venting of drains, defective or unsanitary fixtures, sanitary drainage and for compliance with the approved plans and permit application. All plumbing and gas-fitting work must be completed by a licensed plumber. Inspections can only be made in the presence of a licensed Plumber and/or Gas-Fitter ONLY.
