[ARCHIVED] Storm Safety Message From Danvers Electric

Danvers Electric Storm Safety

Danvers Electric and all DPW Divisions are prepared for a powerful Nor’easter to impact Massachusetts and the Town of Danvers through Wednesday evening. The storm will bring heavy snow, strong winds, rain, and minor coastal flooding into the region. Danvers Electric and DPW are ready for what the Nor’easter may throw at us.

Customers should be alert for standing water and downed power lines that may occur with the expected storm. Please stay clear of standing water and downed lines, and treat any line down as being energized. There is also a large amount of tree debris that may cause a safety hazard. Danvers Electric reminds customers to be aware of their surroundings and be safe.

If you see any downed lines, stay away and report them immediately to Danvers Electric by calling 978-777-2668 during regular business (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) and by calling the Danvers Police non-emergency line at 978-774-1212 during non business hours.

To report an electrical outage please call Danvers Electric at 978-774-0005 and press 1.

Those customers still without power should turn off all major appliances. This will prevent an overloaded circuit which may cause a fire. Also, if you have an electric range, ensure it’s turned off, and do not leave flammable materials, such as pizza boxes, dish towels (etc.) on the appliance. Leave a light on to know when power is restored.
